at the rodeoWhat exactly is “part time” photography?  Honestly, I’m not sure (and I imagine that it’s a little different for each photographer) – but I just know that’s where I’m at.

Photography is my side gig – and I have a heck of a lot of fun at it.  Camera 47 is just my place to share adventures, experiments, and the occasional gear or book review.

I try to post about once a week (sometimes more, sometimes less) – and blog updates can be found on Facebook, via email (sign up in the right column), or through your RSS reader.

So – thanks for stopping by – and if you have questions or suggestions – please don’t hesitate to contact me directly.

Camera 47 is written by Jones Oliver – part time photographer and full time dude-in-a-cube.  He currently lives in Corvallis, OR with his beautiful wife, cute-as-a-button daughter, and big happy dog.

After photography – Jones also enjoys backpacking, strumming the ukulele, and has a secret desire to be a judge on Iron Chef.

  1. Jones, I like checking on you blog. Check Jan’s “Empty nesters” blog to see what folks well over 40 see from the Annapolis side of the world. Take care,

  2. Very nice blog Jones! I like the style, layout, and of course the photos. Thanks for the reviews. It’s nice to get another opinion on gear.
