The Resources page is just my place to share with you folks those links and books and blogs that I turn to most while I keep studying up on this photo stuff.
I’ll try to add updates as I find more. So – in no particular order – here you go. If you have thoughts on any of this – please – don’t hesitate to let me know.
Books: General Photography
- Kelby’s The Digital Photography Book Volumes 1-3. This is my go-to recommendation for all new photographers – or photographers that are looking to get just a bit more serious.
- duChemin’s Within the Frame. As much great press as this has received – it still deserves more. A great read.
- McNally’s The Moment it Clicks. Great read.
E-books
- The Craft & Vision titles. These $5 resources really are a great value. Check ‘em out – there’s likely one over there that you’ll dig.
- The Essential Guide to Portrait Photography from Digital Photography School is a great primer.
Books: Software
- Kelby’s Lightroom book is still the first place I send folks when they pick up LR.
- If you want to try your hand at publishing – and open source is your thing – pick up Scribus. And The Scribus Official Manual is a great resource.
Photography Magazines
- Outdoor Photographer
- Shutterbug
- Popular Photography
E-Magazines
- PhotographyBB. It’s free and is packed with great information every month. Registration required.
Blogs: Photography
- Scott Kelby
- David duChemin’s Pixelated Image.
- Digital Photography School
- 1001 Noisy Cameras – for all news photography gear. Seriously.
Websites
- Photozone.de. When I’m looking for a new lens – this is the place I go to do research. It’s a great resource.
- dpreview.com. When I’m looking for information on new cameras – this is still one of the better places on the web for complete reviews.
